Shiro could hear the voice calling to him. It seemed far off, distant like a dream.
The voice came again. Shiro recognized it, wanting to be closer to it all the more.
That alertness jolted Shiro awake. His eyes adjusted to a dim surrounding. As soon as it cleared, he could recognize the hay and wood around him. He was in the barn.
Shiro looked up to see a pair of eyes looking down on him. The eyes lay nestled within the head of a black wooled ewe.
“Mama?” Shiro realized.
Jinx's eyes began to tear up at the sight of her son. “Oh my baby, you're awake.” Jinx sobbed.
Taking the free moment, Jinx grabbed her son in a hug and let the tears flow. “Oh thank goodness you're alright. My dear precious son.”
“Mama. You're crying.” Shiro noticed.
Jinx sniffed. “I'm just so happy to see you're alright.”
Shiro smiled, but halted when his mother released him
